Ellerbe, NC (pop 1021) is a one-of-a-kind community for its small town America charm and convenient location to popular attractions throughout North and South Carolina.

Little River near EllerbeWhile known by many as an agrarian community, Ellerbe boasts a museum that is widely recognized for its natural history and Native American history exhibits. It has unique, grassroots ventures such as the racetrack built by the local Lion's Club for lawnmower races. Those races occur on Saturday every two weeks during the summer and attract thousands of people from all across the state (and beyond!). Its rural location also means that there are ample opportunities for hiking, fishing, biking, birding, kayaking, hunting, and any other outdoor recreation you can imagine. Of course, Ellerbe's long history of farming means that every road leading through town has a fresh food market within a stone's throw.

Like many small towns in the region, Ellerbe is working to meet needs generated by the Fort Bragg expansion as well as the demand for outdoor recreation by residents in the Charlotte suburbs. Opportunities abound for small business owners and entrepreneurs seeking to capitalize on these trends using the area's well-known history of racing, outdoor recreation, and farm fresh foods. Interested investors should contact the Richmond County Economic Development offices for more information.
